‘Real Housewives’ Star Ramona Singer Is ‘Harder’ On Leah McSweeney Than Other Castmates
Although “The Real Housewives of New York City” stars Ramona Singer and Leah McSweeney appear to be in an all-out war on social media, their co-star, Luann de Lesseps, does not believe that their combative relationship is based on anger.
On the latest season of the Bravo reality series, Ramona and Leah have been at odds both on-screen and online. The relationship between the two has been tense ever since a cast trip to Rhode Island where they argued after having several alcoholic beverages.
Despite their harsh comments to one another, Luanna told Us Weekly that she believes Ramona wants to help Leah, who has been open about her past issues with drinking.
“Ramona loves to play mother hen. So I think Ramona is into mothering Leah a little bit. And at the same time, judges her more like she would judge her own daughter on her behavior,” Luann explained. “She doesn’t give Leah a pass. … With Leah though, she’s very judgmental. So I feel like she’s harder on Leah and then she has on everybody else.”
Although Luann suggested that Ramona means well, she believes the True Faith Jewelry founder allows her selfish tendencies to ruin her relationships.
“She has her moments, and I think that sometimes she is not thinking about other people, and you know, and she’s self-centered,” Luann said. “And she’ll say that! I mean, she says it all the time, you know, ‘It’s all about me.’ What about, ‘Forget about you? It’s about me!’ So, I mean, there’s no secret there.”
Nonetheless, Luann does believe that Ramona “has become a much better character” and has learned from her mistakes. However, she claimed that her castmate “needs a little slap on the wrist” when she gets caught up in her self-serving attitude.
“The Real Housewives of New York City” Season 12 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
