Ever since signing with the team in 2019, the 25-year-old has made an immediate impact for the club. With the consistency he’s shown on the field, Mendy has taken over Marcelo in the starting lineup.

To add to these, he has also tallied 1.3 tackles a game to go along with 0.9 interceptions and clearances a night. Building from this will benefit Zidane and Real Madrid in years to come, as Mendy has shown no signs of slowing down.

In 31 appearances for Real Madrid, Mendy has also scored once coupled with four assists. During the current La Liga season, he played in a total of 25 games and was crucial in several key matches for the club. Out of these games, he was a starter in 19 of these matches and is only looking to be better in years to come.

The consistent performance of Zidane’s star players helped the veteran manager notch his 11th trophy for the club. The cerebral mindset of Zidane coupled with his team’s trusty roster of puts Los Blancos in a position to dominate in years to come. It will be interesting to see how Zidane will utilize Mendy moving forward in the success of Real Madrid.
