Kailyn Lowry is moving on from "Teen Mom 2" after more than a decade on the reality series.
The 30-year-old MTV star revealed her decision during the "Teen Mom 2" reunion episode that aired Tuesday. "I think that we should part ways," she told co-hosts Dr. Drew Pinsky and Nessa. "I think this should be the end."
The mother of four opened up about the decision with E! News' "Daily Pop," sharing the real reason behind her exit. Apparently, Lowry wanted to focus on herself and her family and didn't feel that the show would support her in achieving her new goals.
"I want to focus on my self-growth and my kids and I didn't feel like the show aligned with the goals that I have anymore," she explained. "I decided it was time for me to move on."
Lowry first appeared in "16 and Pregnant" Season 2 back in 2010. She went on to document her motherhood in "Teen Mom 2," where viewers saw her raise her 12-year-old son Isaac with ex Jo Rivera, 8-year-old son Lincoln with ex Javi Marroquin and children Lux, 4, and Creed, 21 months, with ex Chris Lopez over the next 11 years.
She acknowledged the poor choices she's made but noted that they also helped her grow.
"I know I get a lot of backlash for some of the choices that I make," Lowry added. "But I'm just so open about the things that I do and the mistakes that I've made that I feel good about using my mistakes as an open line of communication with my kids. If they have a question about something, we can explain it, we can talk about it."
Lowry said she is excited to move forward and live her life with her new boyfriend, whose name she has yet to reveal.
"It's refreshing to have someone who just fully supports what I want to do and where I want to be," she said, before teasing a return to reality TV. "I joked to the producers that if you guys want to give me my own show, I would be willing to tell all about my new relationship and what we're planning and working on together."
Last year, the reality star opened up about her battle with polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition that causes enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges. She had shared her plans to freeze her eggs, revealing that she wanted to do it in case she wanted to have more kids in the future.
"I was doing [egg harvesting] first, and I’m glad I started doing it, because then I found out I have PCOS," Lowry was quoted by Us Weekly as saying. "I’m not even saying I would have more [kids], I just want the possibility, if five years from now, I do meet the love of my life and we want to have kids, I have healthy eggs."
For now, she is focused on her four children. Lowry admitted that she has been having a hard time keeping up with her appointments and her brood's end-of-the-year school activities. But despite the chaos, she is enjoying her life with her kids.
"It's honestly fun and I don't know what I would do without the chaos," she told "Daily Pop."
