The “foldable display” smartphone race has started with companies like Samsung, Royole, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Oppo, which all staked their places in the recent tech shows this year. So far, Samsung and Huawei have already confirmed that they’ll launch their foldable devices later this year, the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, respectively.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi and Oppo are still working on their prototypes and announced that they’ll show their devices once they are ready.

Royole, on the other hand, started early with the FlexPai device, which is now available to pre-order. The race has started, but Apple has remained tightlipped about their upcoming devices this year.
