Samsung, Apple Collaborating On Galaxy Fold Rival iPhone X Fold?
Apple has announced that they’re working on some new devices that’ll impress their fans upon release. Meanwhile, some speculations are circulating that Samsung is offering their “foldable display” technology to Apple at the moment. Here’s what we know about this new development.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is currently “planting seeds” and “rolling the dice” on new products that’ll “blow you away.” No other details were confirmed, but it seems that fans will just have to trust Apple to deliver on this one. Fans waiting for a new iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch or any other device will have to wait.
However, a rumor on AppleInsider said that Samsung is offering their “foldable display” technology to Apple. During CES 2019, Samsung is one of the companies that announced a device that allows the screen to be folded. With this technology, users can not only enlarge, minimize and transform their screen display, but they could also change the device’s mode. As of now, Apple already holds LG as one of its OLED suppliers. With the potential Samsung partnership, Apple’s stake in the foldable display smartphone race could potentially be strong.
As of now, only rumors about the iPhone X Fold are known about Apple’s entry in this industry. Similar to other iPhones developed in this generation, the phone is expected to be a huge device as current design choices of Apple seem not care about sizes anymore, in contrast to the previous years. However, the rumored design feels too vertical as the iPhone X Fold looks elongated when its display is folded inward.
After CES 2019 and their recent March event, fans will only have to wait for upcoming announcements and releases. So far, their March event in Cupertino only confirmed some new services that’ll be improved in the future. This move is consistent with their previous announcements about Apple’s focus on services.
We’ve yet to know when Apple will resume their focus on new devices. However, their focus could potentially set up a massive Apple swoop once they develop a fresh program built up from their services.
