Rebecca Black: Video for “Friday” removed from YouTube
When Rebecca Black released her music video for her heavily auto-tuned song Friday, it was heavily criticized as possibly one of the worst songs ever.
The song has gathered almost as many 'dislikes' on YouTube as she has viewers.
The much talked about song, though, has been removed from YouTube due to a dispute with her record label.
The company behind Black's song, Ark Music Factory, has not released many details about the dispute.
TMZ quoted a spokesperson for Black who said, We can confirm that we submitted a Take Down Notice to YouTube as a result of the dispute we have with Ark Music regarding the Friday video.
It is speculated that the dispute is about Ark Music Factory's decision to make Friday a rental video. Users would pay $2.99 to watch Black sing about the weekend.
The Guardian reports that this is thought to have a disagreement between Ark and Black's team over who owns the rights to Black's image.
Initially, it was Black's mother who paid Ark to write and produce the song and make the video.
The video was released in March and became an instant viral hit. Many have done covers of the song, most notably on the FOX television hit Glee.
Black even makes a guest appearance in Katy Perry's new video for her song Last Friday Night [T.G.I.F.)
