Red Nexus 5 Release Date Arrives: LG KitKat Flagship Appears In Google Play Store
Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) has released a new version of the LG Nexus 5 in red. Photographs of the red Nexus 5 had been leaked earlier in social media, and a new version of the flagship phone, running Google Android 4.4 KitKat, arrived in the Google Play Store on Tuesday.
The red Nexus 5 costs the same as earlier iterations in white and black -- priced at $349 for 16GB of storage and $399 for 32GB. At the time of this writing, stock of the red Nexus 5 appears to be good, as either version will ship out in one to two days, according to Google.
Does the red Nexus 5 features the rubbery soft back featured on the black version, or the hard plastic that appears on the white? According to a Google representative, the red Nexus 5 is "more similar to the white back than the black."
The Nexus 5 has been well-reviewed online, thanks to its powerful hardware, large, hi-resolution screen and clean, stock software -- all for a price much lower than comparable devices from other OEMs. The International Business Times reviewed the Nexus 5 last month, noting the top 11 features of the Google smartphone.
