Kevin Hart appeared in the Father's Day edition of "Red Table Talk" with Will Smith Sunday. In the 45-minute interview, the comedian opened up about his cheating scandal and how it affected his children.
When asked by Smith about how he faced his family following the public scandals, Hart admitted he had "stepped in some sh-t."
"You're never prepared for that side of it," the 41-year-old actor explained. "Having a little girl in my life, it's tough. You don't realize the impact that your mistakes can truly have. When the kids get involved, it's a different feeling, it's a different emotion."
"Through my public debacles … it's very hard to bother me," Hart continued. "But when your child shows disappointment, shows emotion, shows 'I don't understand why' and you gotta have those conversations, the head drops for the first time."
The comedian further recalled his cheating scandal with model Montia Sabbag in 2017 after he married his wife Enniko Parrish in 2016.
Hart also explained how different his conversation was with his wife about the whole controversy in comparison to his talk with his daughter about the matter.
"Now you realize there's a different emotional cord that can be pulled on you that nobody else has the privilege of ever touching, " he admitted. "My daughter touched on that cord, man."
"When me and my wife went through what we went through and the whole cheating display, my talk with [daughter] Heaven, goddamn," Hart continued. "That was one like no other. Getting my daughter back, getting my daughter to understand that I'm sorry, that I made a mistake, that was real. To understand, I'm still dad."
Hart shares two children with his first wife Torrei Hart: Hendrix and Heaven. Meanwhile, he has two kids with his second and current wife Parrish: Kenzo Kash and Kaori Mai.
The comedian's new movie titled "Fatherhood" dropped last week on Netflix. He will be next seen in "The Man from Toronto," which is slated for release on Jan. 14, 2022. He is also part of the voice-over cast for the animated movie "DC League of Super-Pets," which will be released on May 20, 2022.
