Regé-Jean Page Addresses 'Bridgerton' Return Rumors After Jonathan Bailey Reunion In Milan

Regé-Jean Page reunited with former "Bridgerton" co-star Jonathan Bailey in Italy, but he's not returning to the hit Netflix period drama anytime soon.

Over the weekend, Page and Bailey were spotted heading into the Armani Men's Spring 2023 menswear show together during Fashion Week in Milan, People reported.

The 34-year-old actor shared on Instagram Tuesday a photo of him and his fellow Brit sporting sunglasses as they headed to the star-studded event, writing: "The boys are back in town."

Page looked stylish in a blue jacket, matching pants, black shirt and brown sneakers, while Bailey opted for a dark button-down shirt, navy shorts and a pair of black sneakers.

In his caption for the picture, Page shut down rumors claiming he's set to reprise his role as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings in "Bridgerton" Season 3.

"(No, I’m not going back to the show btw - the papers made that one up.) But we had the best, and most stylish, catch-up I’ve had in a while over some truly excellent Italian coffee and sunshine," he wrote.

Page's clarification broke the hearts of "Bridgerton" fans who are still hoping to see his character appear in future seasons.

"You just broke my heart with that news @regejean," one fan commented. Another added, "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO BACK TO BRIDGERTON! We miss you!"

But many also appreciated that he put the rumors to rest and said they are looking forward to his future projects.

"Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the clarification. You do you!!" one wrote.

Another commented, "Thanks @regejean for putting those rumors to rest. So looking forward to seeing you this summer and other future projects."

Page and Bailey starred in "Bridgerton's" first season in 2020. It focused on Simon finding love with Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor).

The "Bridgerton" breakout star then left ahead of Season 2, which centered on Bailey's character Anthony's romance with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).

Page confirmed his exit from the show in April 2021 after Netflix and Shondaland announced that he would not return for the second season.

"It's a one-season arc. It's going to have a beginning, middle, end – give us a year," Page told Variety about this conversation with producers when he joined the series. "[I thought] 'That's interesting,' because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on."
