‘Reign’ Season 4 Spoilers: Queen Mary Leaves Her Scottish Castle In Episode 10 ‘A Better Man’ [VIDEO]
Queen Mary (Adelaide Kane) married Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) after learning that she is pregnant with his child the last time “Reign” aired an episode on The CW. The Queen of Scots accepted her fate and chose a future where her child will rule both England and Scotland peacefully instead of marrying for love.
The sad marriage was accompanied by a plot by the Vatican to give Darnley more power and put Mary on the side. Of course, the fiery monarch isn’t one to easily bow down to any man or the Vatican.

According to the synopsis of “Reign” Season 4, episode 10, titled “A Better Man,” on TVGuide, Mary will strategize ways to take over the English throne. Kane’s character has been vying for her cousin’s throne for a long time now and her marriage to Darnley secures her claim even more for her throne.
However, trouble is brewing in Scotland. The promo of the upcoming episode shows Darnley being pressured to produce an heir for the throne. He is unaware that his wife is already pregnant. He asks permission to visit her bedchambers at night.
Marital problems aren’t the only problems on Mary’s mind. James (Dan Jeannotte), her handsome half-brother, discovers a plot against her life. There is no other way for her to escape the assassination attempt than to leave the castle immediately. That’s right: Mary leaves the Scottish court.
Moreover, James gets caught up in a scheme orchestrated by the conniving John Knox (Jonathan Goad) and will be forced to deal with the traffic aftermath. What is Knox planning? It certainly will be something devious. Remember how he tricked Lola (Anna Popplewell) into believing that Mary wants her to assassinate Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten)? It led to her swift death.
Meanwhile, in England, Elizabeth will struggle to find an appropriate suitor to marry. History tells us that the English queen never marries and leaves her throne without an heir. Mary’s son James steps in and rules both countries peacefully.
Season 4, episode 10 of “Reign” also stars Celina Sinden as May’s friend Greer, Megan Follows as the forever scheming Catherine de Medici, Craig Parker as Lord Narcisse, Ben Geurens as Gideon Blackburn, Rose Williams as Princess Claude and Spencer MacPherson as King Charles.
The CW series returns after a two-week hiatus. As previously reported, the series finale of “Reign,” titled “All It Cost Her,” is scheduled to premiere on Friday, June 16 at 9 p.m. It remains to be seen how Mary will die in the final episode of the period drama. According to history, she was decapitated after being found guilty of plotting to assassinate Elizabeth.
“Reign” fans are also eager to see Bash (Torrance Coombs) return for the final episode of the show. However, there is no news yet that he will return.
“Reign” Season 4, episode 10 premieres Friday, April 28 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
