Joe Paterno has been fired as Penn State's head football coach Wednesday by the University's board of trustees. Police identified the woman found dead Friday morning in a burning car as Elizabeth Lightfoot. The Dallas County Medical Examiner has not yet determined a cause of death because the 22-year-old's body was too badly burned. Lightfoot's body was found around 2:30 a.m. in north Dallas.

A bikini-clad woman floating on a surfboard a quarter-mile from Seabright Beach found herself amongst a group of kayakers, all whom witnessed close-up two humpback whales feeding on anchovies and plankton near Santa Cruz, Calif. Barb Roettger had her camera rolling and captured the two whales feasting near the unsuspecting witnesses. The video has since gone viral.

Daily deals website Groupon announced late Thursday its initial public offering of 35 million Class A shares Thursday at the price of $20 per share, giving the company a market value of $12.7 billion. The company also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 5.2 million shares of the Class A stock to cover over-allotments.
