The snake is worth around $71,000 in the illegal wildlife trade market. The red sand boa snake is a protected species registered under the Wildlife Protection Act.

The man suspected his wife of cheating. He was charged with 40 years of prison life for murder, followed by a consecutive sentence of 10 years for child endangerment.
