ABC is reportedly looking to revisit “Revenge” with a different take. According to Deadline, the network is giving one of the channel’s most popular drama series of this decade a new chapter.

The original “Revenge” starred Emily VanCamp as lead Emily Thorne, Josh Bowman as Daniel Grayson and Madeleine Stowe as Victoria Grayson. The series, which ran from 2011-2015, followed a young woman who set out to exact revenge on those who wronged her father.

The rebooted show, which would also be called “Revenge,” will keep the original creator/executive producer Mike Kelley and writer/producer Joe Fazzio. Since the upcoming version is still in its early stages, no actors have been cast for the project just yet.

We do know is that the new story will follow a young Latinx immigrant. “Guided by one of the original series’ favorite characters, she arrives in Malibu to exact revenge on a Sackler-Esque pharmaceutical dynasty, whose insatiable greed leads to the murder of her biochemist mother, the destruction of her family, and a global epidemic,” Deadline reports of the plot.

“Revenge” was inspired by a novel titled “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas. When it first premiered, it did well for ABC. Deadline reports that “its linear ratings eventually tapered off as the heavily serialized drama probably would’ve been better suited for streaming.” The show ended after four seasons but was a huge international seller for ABC Studios.

Every episode of the original "Revenge" is now available to stream on Hulu.
