‘Revenge’ Season 4 Spoilers: EP Teases New Romance For Emily In Midseason Premiere
“Revenge” will be ringing in the new year on a romantic note. According to Sunil Nayar, executive producer of the hit ABC series, Emily (Emily VanCamp) will find herself cozying up to a Hamptonite when Season 4 returns Sunday, Jan. 4. But the man who manages to make David’s (James Tupper) daughter swoon might just surprise fans.
"I think you're going to start to see the real connection between Ben (Brian Hallisay) and Emily," the showrunner told E! Online, crushing the hearts of Emily/Jack (Nick Wechsler) shippers everywhere. "There's a kindness he feels toward Emily and kinship we're going to [focus] on more," he concluded.
We’ve seen Ben pining for Emily throughout the entire fourth season, and it looks like all his effort (including late-night confessions and date proposals) will finally pay off. And according to the show’s EP, Emily isn’t the only one who has developed feelings for the cop.
"We love him, we're keeping him,” Nayar added about Hallisay’s beloved character.
That’s not all the scoop Sunil gave E! Online for the upcoming episode 11. According to reports, there will be one character noticeably absent from the Season 4 midseason premiere when Daniel’s (Joshua Bowman) funeral happens. In the midseason finale of “Revenge,” Daniel fatally jumped in front of a bullet for Emily when Jack's treacherous date, Agent Kate (Courtney Ford), attempted to kill David’s daughter. The fight between the girls got ugly, but ultimately it was both Daniel and Malcolm Black's daughter who met their demise in episode 10.
So which character won’t be paying their respects in episode 11 to the heroic Hamptonite? According to Nayar, it’s someone who was very close to Daniel.
"Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) may not be back for Daniel's funeral, but she's someone we keep talking about, and if we can figure out the right way to bring her in, we'll certainly talk about having her back," Nayar dished about the character who left the Hamptons to seek out help in rehab.
TVLine reported that Allen's temporary departure from "Revenge" may have something to do with the actress' new role in the ABC Family series "Baby Daddy." Allen will be playing a corporate lawyer when Season 4 of "Baby Daddy" returns in 2015.
