‘RHOA’ Star Nene Leakes Gushes Over Season 10 Return, Has No Interest In Being ‘Shady’
After months of negotiations, Nene Leakes has finally signed on to appear on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 10 and the Bravo star seems ecstatic about the big news.
Leakes initially announced her return to the reality series on Wednesday. The following day, she took to Instagram to put aside any shadiness to thank those who congratulated her on her return to reality television.
The star shared a picture of herself wearing a crown while holding a peach. The peach is the state fruit of Georgia and is also held by every “RHOA” cast member in the beginning of each episode.

“Chile you know I LIVE for a shady moment but I really wanna take this time to thank everybody that showed me so much love yesterday! The text messages, emails, phone calls and comments were like WOW!” she wrote alongside the picture.
Leakes also took the time to thank those who helped her to get back on the show. “Thanks to my team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to makes this happen! Thanks to Bravo and True Entertainment! #RHOA,” she added, ending her post.
Although Leakes is returning to the reality program, she will not have as much screen as she had before in previous seasons. Leakes will be returning to the series as a part-time cast member, according to TMZ.
Leakes will be joined by Kim Zolciak on “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” who also signed on as a part-time cast member. Leakes couldn’t sign on full-time due to other work obligations like her clothing line whereas Zolciak is still filming her own reality series “Don’t Be Tardy” and was not allowed to sign on full-time.
Announcing her return to the series, Leakes referred to herself as the queen. “It’s been a long process but we’ve finally reached an agreement! All Hail the Queen for season 10 of #RHOA,” she wrote Wednesday.
Leakes has a long-standing history with the series and was on the show from Seasons 1-7 but reportedly left over money. At the time, Leakes was hoping for a larger check than the network was offering and when an agreement could not be met, she chose to leave.
“This was definitely a hard decision for me,” Leakes told People at the time. “Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things,” she explained to the publication.

Meanwhile, Zolciak left the series at the end of Season 5 to begin filming her spinoff show. Fans got a taste of what it will be like to have Zolciak back on the program during the Season 9 finale when the star got into a screaming match with fellow cast member Kenya Moore.
Although several cast members have already begun to film for Season 10, fans will have to be patient and wait to see all of the drama unfold as Bravo has yet to announce a release date for the upcoming season.
