‘RHOBH’ Star Teddi Mellencamp Blames Denise Richards’ Feud On Aaron Phypers’ ‘Aggressive’ Behavior
Following Erika Jayne Girardi’s argument with Denise Richards’ husband on the latest episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave defended the Broadway star’s decision to confront Aaron Phypers about the way that he spoke to the other women in the cast.
Denise and Aaron have been at odds with a majority of the Bravo cast since Denise called out the ladies for discussing threesomes in front of her daughters, Sami, 16, Lola, 15, and Eloise, 9. Although the ladies were unhappy about Denise’s reaction, things took a turn for the worse when Aaron stepped in to defend his wife.
During the “RHOBH” Season 10, episode 9, the group attended Sutton Stracke’s event, where they agreed to wait for Denise to return from the bathroom before they approached the couple to discuss the rising tension.
Although Erika’s deviation from the plan seemed to make the feud worse, Teddi stood by her friend’s decision and appeared to place blame on Aaron.
“When it comes to Erika, she’s not the one that’s gonna be initiating the problem, anytime really, but if somebody’s directing something at her, she’s gonna step up to it, and I think that’s what happened,” she said on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 10 After Show.”
Teddi explained that the women initially wanted to discuss Denise’s outburst over the threesome conversation, but the discussion quickly became about Aaron’s behavior.
“He’s showing up again, and then he starts getting aggressive again. It just makes the situation worse, whereas we could have just maybe had a peaceful conversation with Denise and worked through the situation,” Teddi revealed.
“Aaron’s there flexing his muscles trying to make us feel — I don’t know if he’s trying to make us feel timid or nervous or what his intention was. It was like, now we really can’t close things, finish things off with Denise, because now you’re making it about you again.”
Fans will have to wait to see if the women will be able to work out their issues with Denise, or if Aaron’s behavior will ruin his wife’s chances of settling her issues with the cast.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Season 10 airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
