'RHOC' Star Emily Simpson Says Husband Shane Is A Changed Man, 'He Learned A Lot'

Emily Simpson's marriage is on the up and up thanks to "The Real Housewives of Orange County."

For a show that seemingly produced more divorces than not, news that Emily's marriage to Shane was strengthened by the show is a refreshing breath of air. Fans weren't exactly a fan of the 43-year-old's husband since he first appeared on Season 13 of the reality show and not much has changed as viewers watch Season 14, which is currently airing. However, Emily insisted that "RHOC" has made her husband a changed man.

“When you have the opportunity to watch yourself, sometimes the self-awareness that you get is just an entirely different perspective,” she revealed during an appearance on People TV's Reality Check, per OK! Magazine.

“[Shane] really saw and heard everything everybody was saying and really took it to heart. He watched with the intent from learning from it, and he learned a lot,” she said.

Emily echoed the same sentiment when she spoke to TooFab in Sept.

"... this year, it was just much more personal because it's such a bird's-eye view into our life and marriage, and sometimes, you just don't wanna relive that," she said, later adding, "I would say things are definitely on the up-swing now."

"I think sometimes, maybe the best therapy is actually watching yourself back because I really feel like maybe Shane was not self-aware," the mother-of-three shared. "And to him, he's like, 'Well, I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't call you names. I didn't yell at you.' But I don't think he grasped how dismissive or cold he could be until he was forced to watch himself. He's really put effort into being completely different, and I have to give him credit for that. Definitely."
