San Juan, Puerto Rico -- Latin actor-singer Ricky Martin was issued a restraining order on Friday for domestic abuse.
The identity of the alleged victim remains undisclosed. In the document, which was filed electronically, "the petitioner fears for his safety," according to Puerto Rican news outlet El Vocero.
It also stated, "The parties were related for seven months. They separated two months ago, but the petitioner does not accept the separation. He calls him often. In addition, the petitioner has seen him prowling his residence on at least three occasions."
The order prohibits Martin from making any form of contact with the petitioner who demonstrated in court that "there is a substantial possibility of immediate risk of abuse." Martin has been ordered to "refrain from making phone calls and sending text or voice messages to the personal, work, family, or friend phone numbers of the petitioner."
Martin has been ordered to avoid contacting the alleged victim through email and social media as well. On Friday, authorities visited an upscale neighborhood in Dorado where Martin lives, to serve the order. However, they weren't able to locate him.
"Up until now, police haven't been able to find him," police spokesman Axel Valencia told The Associated Press.
A hearing is scheduled on July 21 when the order expires. A representative for Martin has denied the allegations, telling People, "We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated."
Earlier this week, Martin was slapped with a $3M lawsuit by his former talent manager for unpaid commissions. "Rebecca Drucker saved Ricky Martin's career," says the 15-page breach of oral contract suit filed by Drucker in Los Angeles Central Disctrict Court.
"There is just one problem: Martin completely and maliciously refused to pay Rebecca the millions of dollars in commissions that he owes her under their management agreement," the explosive suit reads, according to Yahoo.
Martin who is an openly gay celebrity, came out in 2010 and has been married to Syrian artist Jwan Yosef since 2017, they share four children.
