Rihanna Opens About Her Decision To Make Music With Chris Brown
Rihanna has heard the controversy over her recent musical collaborations with Chris Brown and today she revealed it was all for the art.
I reached out to him about doing 'Birthday Cake' because [he was] the only person that really made sense to do the record -- just as a musician, Rihanna told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning. Despite everything else, that was gonna be the person.
Rihanna said that she considered other people, but that Brown just made sense.
You know, I thought about rappers, [but] the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown, she said. So I wanted him on the track.
In turn, Rihanna agreed to appear on one of Brown's tracks as well.
I reached out to him for 'Birthday Cake' and in return he asked me to be featured on 'Turn Up The Music,' she said. It made sense. He's the hottest R&B artist in music right now...It's just music. It's innocent. We wanted to bring our fans together. There's no reason to divide.
