‘Riverdale’ Season 1 Spoilers: Molly Ringwald Debuts As Archie’s Mom In Episode 10

“Riverdale” Season 1 will soon introduce Archie’s (KJ Apa) mom, Mary (Molly Ringwald).

TV Line just dropped a photo of the ‘80s teen icon with Archie’s dad, Fred (Luke Perry). Since “Riverdale” premiered several weeks ago, Archie’s mom has never been shown in the hit The CW series. But in several instances, Fred has mentioned Mary in passing. Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) mom, Hermione (Marisol Nichols), has also talked about Mary when she and Fred hooked up at the latter’s trailer.

Mary will be first seen in episode 10, titled “Chapter Ten: The Lost Weekend.” The episode will be heavily centered on Archie sharing his thoughts and feelings about his parents’ divorce. After all, Mary will return to Riverdale to finalize their divorce documents. Archie is known for being such a strong force for his dad, as well as his friends. So the lead character showing vulnerability in the upcoming installment will be different from Archie’s usual calm and cool demeanor.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether or not Mary will find out the truth about Fred’s budding relationship with Hermione. Even though Fred and Veronica are trying to keep their affair a secret, Jughead’s dad, FP (Skeet Ulrich), told Veronica in the previous episode that he knows exactly what’s going on between them.

In other news, it is also unclear whether or not Mary had something to do with Jason Blossom’s (Trevor Stines) murder. After all, the mystery surrounding the character’s death has not yet been solved. Previously, FP, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Archie, Penelope (Nathalie Boltt) and Alice (Madchen Amick) were all linked to Jason’s demise.

“Riverdale” Season 1, episode 10 will air on The CW on April 13 at 9 p.m. EST.
