‘Riverdale’ Season 2 Spoilers: Betty, Jughead Set Photo Teases Future Of Their Relationship?

The filming for “Riverdale” Season 2 has officially begun, and a photo of Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) has also been released online.

On the official Twitter account of “Archie,” Betty and Jughead are shown fixing a car together in a new set photo. By the looks of it, the scene will be part of an upcoming episode of the hit The CW series. According to Teen Vogue, Betty working on a car isn’t a surprising thing to see, since she was written as a skilled mechanic in the comic books. In fact, she also fixed Archie’s car in the four-part comic book titled “Love Showdown.”

Meanwhile, Betty and Jughead’s photo suggests that the couple will continue to spend time with each other despite the fact that the latter has decided to join the Southside Serpents.

While speaking with TV Guide, Sprouse confirmed that he will be very present in the lives of his friends in “Riverdale,” but he will also be spending a lot of time on the southern side of town. “Jughead is going to be placed in the center of two worlds. He’s got his foot on the north side and the south side of and that places him in a kind of dilemma,” he said.

Additionally, Sprouse hinted on the possibility of Jughead and Archie (KJ Apa) being pitted against each other in Season 2. After all, the upcoming episodes will definitely be much darker than Season 1.

But executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month that despite the struggles Betty and Jughead would face, the former will not stop fighting for the latter. “The fear that Betty has is Jughead is going to be sucked into this world that she has nothing to do with Betty – he might be going to a new school, living with a new family in a different part of town, he’s joined this gang. All I’ll tease is Betty is not someone who gives up easily. She’s probably the strongest of the kids. If she’s going to start losing Jughead, which may happen, she’s going to fight for him,” he said.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
