‘Riverdale’ Star Camila Mendes Posts Adorable Throwback Photo With Her Dad On Father’s Day

Camila Mendes’ character, Veronica, will soon reunite with her dad, Hiram (Mark Consuelos) in “Riverdale” Season 2. But the actress’ real-life father is very much present in her life.

On her Instagram account, Mendes posted the cutest throwback snap of herself with her dad to pay tribute to the latter on Father’s Day. Mendes kept her photo caption very short but meaningful, writing that she will always be her dad’s mini-me.

Meanwhile, Veronica’s MIA dad, Hiram, will make an appearance very early on in “Riverdale” Season 2. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed that Hiram will arrive in Riverdale in the first half of Season 2. The exec also dished on what fans can expect from the new character.

“Hiram is a family man; he loves and treasures his wife and especially his daughter. But there’s no denying that we’ve built up someone who has very dark dealings and who has a criminal past. He’s not like the Serpents, who are a street-level gang. He’s operating at a much higher level and has tentacles everywhere,” he said.

Cast member KJ Apa also hinted on how his character Archie’s life will change after his dad’s shooting. While speaking with TV Line, he said that Fred’s (Luke Perry) fate is still unclear. But whether or not Archie’s dad will die after being shot, his character will still be changed forever due to the incident. “We’re going to see a darker side to him for sure,” he said.

In other news, “Riverdale” fans will no longer be restricted to just watching the hit CW series or listening to the songs feature on the show. Starting September, Hot Topic will release a “Riverdale”-inspired clothing line for all avid viewers of the series.

The retailer announced their collaboration with “Riverdale” via their official Twitter account. In the post, they shared a photo of a black and white t-shirt with Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) face on it. For their caption, they quoted one of Jughead’s famous lines uttered at the beginning of every episode. Other products that will be released in the fall include Jughead’s beanie.

There are also rumors suggesting that Jughead’s cable sweater will be part of the clothing line. Other than pieces of clothing, accessories worn by the characters in the series may also be available under Hot Topic’s “Riverdale” fashion line. Veronica’s pearl necklace, which was heavily featured in one of the episodes, could also be released.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. EDT.
