Rob Zombie Introduces New Character To 'The Munsters' [Photo]

Director Rob Zombie shared a portrait of a new character named Mr. Gateman from his upcoming movie, "The Munsters."

The 57-year-old director shared a black and white photo on Instagram on Monday featuring actor Jeremy Wheeler. Rob teased the character in the caption, "Ladies and gentlemen I give you some new casting straight from the set of THE MUNSTERS in beautiful downtown Budapest."

The director further revealed that the character will be playing Herman's boss in the movie. Herman is one of the key characters in the movie played by actress Sheri Moon Zombie.

"Jeremy Wheeler aka MR. GATEMAN, Herman’s boss at the one and only GATEMAN, GOODBURY and GRAVES FUNERAL PARLOR," he added. "The finest funeral home in all of Mockingbird Heights. Don’t let that winning smile fool you… he’s a grim man for a grim job."

Fans took to the comments section to share their excitement.

"Yes. Can't wait to see this," one of the fans wrote. Another fan commented, "Can’t wait for the trailer." Considering this movie is a reboot of the 1960s sitcom of the same name, a fan questioned "Is anyone else worried about the lack of Eddie Munster announcements?"

A fan replied, "I feel like we're getting closer. Mr. Gateman is the first character besides the big 3 (Lily, Herman, and Grandpa) who was actually a character on the show. Unless Igor is intended to be the same character as Grandpa's bat."

The director previously shared a behind-the-scenes photo last month featuring the three key characters Herman, Lily, and Grandpa - played by Sheri, Jeff Daniel Phillips and Daniel Roebuck, respectively.

At that time, the director explained how difficult it is to do the makeup for these characters. "It takes quite a team to keep these Munsters looking so fresh and camera ready from sunrise to sunset," he had captioned the post.

"The Munsters" is a reboot of the 1960s sitcom, which featured a family that was quite different. For instance, the father named Herman looked like Frankenstein's monster while Lily and Grandpa were vampires. Herman and Lily shared a son named Eddie, who was a werewolf.

The series was originally aired on the CBS network. However, there is no announcement regarding the reboot series release.
