Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart: Everything ‘Twilight’ Stars Recently Said About Their Relationship
It’s 2020, but “Twilight” fans are still likely not over the former on-screen, off-screen love connection between film stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
In light of the announcement of the upcoming release of “Midnight Sun,” author Stephenie Meyer’s prequel to the original vampire book, and Pattinson’s 34th birthday Wednesday, below are all of the times the former lovers and co-stars have talked about their past relationship in recent years.
On Good Terms
During an interview with The Sunday Times in April 2019, Pattinson shed some light on his past romances, including his years-long relationship with Stewart. When asked by the outlet if he was on good terms with his exes, he responded with “yes, yes,” reports Elle.
Without naming Stewart directly, Pattinson commented on pre-President Donald Trump’s tweet about their romance in 2012. After rumors that Stewart had cheated on Pattinson with a married director surfaced, Trump infamously tweeted that the actor shouldn’t “take back” Stewart, writing that “she cheated on him like a dog.”
While speaking about his friend Katy Perry receiving birthday letters from past presidents in the interview, Pattinson said, “That’s my equivalent. She gets five presidential letters. I get relationship advice in a tweet.”
Love And Marriage?
During a November 2019 sitdown with Howard Stern on “The Howard Stern Show,” Stewart shared several details about her past with Pattinson, including her belief that he’s still “the best.”
“We were together for years. That was, like, my first, you know,” she said. “...I was super in love with my high-school boyfriend. Super, super [expletive] in love with him. But me and Rob were, like, a little older, and it was just like, ‘gu-gung.’”
When Stern commented that falling in love on a set is the “biggest mistake” an actor can make, Stewart said, “There was nothing I could do."
Finally, when asked if she would have ever considered marrying Pattinson, she said, “I don’t know. I wanted to... I’m not like a super-duper traditionalist but at the same time, every relationship I’ve ever been in I thought that was it.”

Why They Kept Things Quiet
In September 2019, Stewart revealed to Harpers Bazaar why she and Pattinson decided to stay silent about their romance during the “Twilight” years.
“When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by,” she explained. “So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, ‘No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours.’”
Pattinson’s Batman Role
Also in September 2019, Stewart revealed her true thoughts about Pattinson taking on the role of Batman in the upcoming feature film about the caped crusader.
“I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part,” she said to Variety, adding, “I’m so happy for him. It’s crazy. I’m very, very happy about that. I heard that and I was like, ‘Oh man!’ It’s awesome.”
Pattinson can be seen next in “Tenet,” releasing this summer, and the aforementioned “The Batman,” which is set for a fall 2021 debut. As for Stewart, she is lined up to lead the 2020 dramedy “Happiest Season.”
