Robert Pattinson's Fiancee FKA Twigs Top Choice For Judge On 'The Voice UK'
There is speculation in the media that Robert Pattinson's girlfriend and musician FKA Twigs will replace Rita Ora as a judge on "The Voice UK." Ora quit "The Voice" to join "The X-Factor UK" as a judge and announced the decision on her Twitter.
“Tonight Matthew I'm going to be...an X factor Judge! I can't wait! So excited to find the new UK talent! Alongside grimmy Cheryl and Simon!,” Ora wrote on Twitter. She will be a judge on the reality show along with Cheryl Cole, Nick Grimshaw and Simon Cowell.
Ora's exit has left a vacancy for a judge on "The Voice," and there are many artists being considered for the enviable spot. A source close to "The Voice" told the Daily Star (via Yahoo Celebrity) that Ora's sudden exit from the show, after one season, has left the producers furious. Critics also believe that she did not have enough knowledge of music for the job. "Rita may have brought glamour to 'The Voice,' but she wasn't too clued up on musical knowledge. She didn't know who the Monkees were. FKA Twigs is beautiful and credible," a source told Daily Star (via Yahoo).
Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, is not only a songstress but also an excellent dancer and a music director. She recently appeared in the music video of her song “Glass & Patron” and directed the video of her new single "Pendulum."
Twigs kicked off her career as a backup dancer when she was just 17. In 2014, she released her debut album “LP1,” which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and also received a Grammy nomination. Known for her funky and peculiar sense of style (with nose rings and braided hair), Twigs is often compared to alternative rock singer Bjork. However, the 27-year-old is best known in the media as the fiancee of the “Twilight” star.
Another singer considered for the spot of judge on the show is Paloma Faith. "The Voice UK" coaches currently consist of will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson. The shooting for the new season will begin in October.
