  • Rockstar Games has confirmed a new "Grand Theft Auto" series installment is in development
  • It has not revealed any information about the upcoming game yet
  • Rockstar Games released the new "GTA V: Enhanced Edition" last month

Video game developer and publisher Rockstar Games has reportedly removed from its website the supposed official logo of the next "Grand Theft Auto" game installment, the name of which seemingly confirmed an old "GTA 6" rumor.

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed it is working on a new "Grand Theft Auto" series installment, but it has not revealed anything about it yet. Interestingly, a new Rockstar merchandise may have outed the upcoming title's official logo.

An image of the merchandise was shared online by the Twitter account NEWSLEAKSGTAS, which constantly provides the community with new leaks about the "GTA" world. The online merchandise page of Rockstar Games was updated on April 15 with one new item, the tweet said.

The screenshot, which was reportedly taken before the store rolled back the update, features a new item named "black_americas_logo_8445ae52. There is no telling about the leak's authenticity, with some fans claiming they have seen the logo elsewhere on the official site.

Several fans slammed the leak, claiming that the website was not updated at all and that if the game developer had indeed made the merchandise and uploaded it on the page even for just a few seconds, it would be visible using a third-party archive such as Wayback Machine.

This leak, if true, becomes a lot more interesting because the term Americas on it seemingly supports the previous rumor about "GTA 6" being internally called Project Americas. The rumor surfaced in 2019 and claimed that the next "Grand Theft Auto" title would feature huge maps.

According to the rumor, the game will involve players going from one region in North America to another in South America, and vice versa. It is, by far, one of the most elaborate rumors about the highly anticipated game.

However, Rockstar Games has not confirmed any of these claims making the rounds online. Meanwhile, the gaming studio officially released the "GTA V: Enhanced Edition" last month. It is available on next-generation gaming consoles PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
