The big three of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are the most successful tennis players in history. In terms of Grand Slam count, there’s nobody else near the three among the active players. Federer leads everyone with 20, Nadal follows with 19 and Djokovic is ascending with 17.

The last time someone else won a Major title was back in 2016 where Stan Wawrinka defeated Djokovic and claimed the US Open Championship. Since then it was all big three winning every Grand Slam that came along the way. Whether it’s Nadal dominating the clay surface, Djokovic defensively sliding across the court, or the 38-year-old Federer still gracefully winning, the current generation has been blessed with arguably the greatest lineup in the sport.

Former French Open finalist Robin Soderling shared his thoughts on the current situation of the tour. Per Tennis World USA, Soderling said how astounding it is to have these players play in the current era. “ In a way, it is completely crazy. It's hard to compare eras, but three of the best players of all time play at the same time.”

He added how influential the three are for elevating the quality of play. “It's totally crazy. They are so damn good and have been fantastic for the sport, although it has not been so fun for us others.”

Soderling was a Grand Slam finalist twice, both of them being in Roland Garros. One of the biggest moments in his career was when he defeated Nadal in 2009. Nadal is known as the King of Clay and beating him as early as the fourth round of the tournament proved to be a shocker for the world. He eventually advanced to the finals where Federer defeated him.

Soderling would then get a rematch against Federer in the 2010 French Open quarterfinals where he was able to bounce back and defeat him. His winning ways would continue and propel him to a second consecutive slot in the finals. But he would, unfortunately, fall as he was up against Nadal where the Spaniard would get revenge and take the title.
