Romney on Mormon Faith: U.S. Not Electing 'Pastor-in-Chief'
Mitt Romney, the Republican Presidential candidate hopeful, says he isn't worried that people in the United States will be considering his religion as they go to the polls in November of 2012.
I don't have any question about whether Republicans and conservatives and Christians are going to go to the polls, he said in a pre-recorded interview with NBC's Today Show which aired Tuesday. I think the great propensity of individuals of faith say we're not electing a pastor-in-chief. We're electing a commander-in-chief.
He was asked about his initial reaction to a new Broadway play called 'Book of Mormon' which shares creators with the controversial 'South Park' television series.
I laughed. South Park is funny. And I haven't seen it yet. I probably will at some point, he said.
You know your faith has finally made it big time when people are poking fun at you on Broadway.
