‘Roswell, New Mexico’ Spoilers: Episode 3 Synopsis, Video And Photos Revealed
The Rosa mystery just keeps unfolding on “Roswell, New Mexico.” In Season 1, episode 3, Liz will go searching for clues about Rosa’s death.
“Liz (Jeanine Mason) enlists Maria's (Heather Hemmens) help as she goes on a scavenger hunt across Roswell to uncover more about Rosa's final days,” the CW’s synopsis teases.
The hunt is set off, of course, by clues from Max (Nathan Parsons). Liz asked him to show her his memories of Rosa, and one slipped in that showed them in some sort of Rosa pushing Max right before her death. She had the words “a fraudulent zodiac” (which are Third Eye Blind lyrics) written on her hand. She’ll use that clue to lead her to a series of Rosa’s secret hiding places.
It isn’t just Rosa she is worried about. After seeing Rosa’s autopsy photo with an alien handprint across her face, Liz has even more concerns about the aliens and their intentions. When Max said he’d been feeling off ever since saving Liz, she offered to run some tests to figure out how to help him. She has ulterior motives, though.
“After uncovering some unsettling information about Max, Liz runs a series of tests to see what his powers may be capable of,” the “Roswell, New Mexico” logline says.
That won’t sit well with Michael (Michael Vlamis) and Isobel (Lily Cowles). They’ll “take matters into their own hands after learning that Liz may be getting too close to Max.” So what does that mean? The trailer makes it look like Isobel is trying to get Liz to leave town. Third Eye Blind’s song won’t be the only late 90s track referenced. “Roswell, New Mexico” Season 1, episode 3 is titled “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” a classic *NSYNC track.
Speaking of references, there is a tiny “Vampire Diaries” easter egg that eagle-eyed viewers might be able to spot. Showrunner Carina MacKenzie got her first TV writing gig on “The Originals,” the “TVD” spinoff.
The episode airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
