Ruby Rose’s Gender Fluid Video ‘Break Free’ Spikes After ‘Orange Is The New Black’: Karrueche Tran Is ‘Not Straight Anymore’

There’s no question among “Orange Is the New Black” fans: Ruby Rose is the breakout star of Season 3. She has caught the eye of thousands with her “gender fluid” look, especially after her shower scene, but before she played a Litchfield inmate on "OITNB," Rose created a short film called “Break Free.”

The 5-minute movie focused on gender roles that deviate from the norm. Rose created the video nearly a year ago, but after Season 3 of the hit Netflix series debuted last Thursday, the amount of YouTube views of the short film spiked by more than 1.5 million. A week prior, it had 3 million views.

Rose described the video as “a short film about gender roles, Trans, and what it is like to have an identity that deviates from the status quo.” During a recent interview with Net-A-Porter, the Australian model-actress-VJ-recording artist said she was confused about her gender as a child. “I didn’t like girls' clothes. I wasn’t comfortable with Barbies," Rose said. "I would slick back my hair and pretend that I was a guy."

Rose’s striking beauty has turned some straight girls gay -- at least, that’s what a popular social media meme claims. Even Chris Brown’s ex-girlfriend Karreuche Tran has been taken with Rose, 29.

Tran shared a photo on her official Instagram page Tuesday that has four pictures of Rose and reads: “When u think ur straight but then Ruby Rose comes and confuses you.” The model, 27, captioned the photo: “I’m not straight anymore. I’m not confused. I’m ready :)”

Her post became a talking point for her 2.9 million followers. More than 99,000 people liked the image, which garnered more than 10,000 comments. That’s an impressive amount of conversation for a photo of Tran’s, especially since her posts generally attract about 1,000 responses each.

Some people agreed with Tran. “Yeah! I’m not confused anymore," one follower said about Rose. “Sorry this is so true,” a different Instagram user added.

Other people brought Tran’s ex into the mix. “You look stupid girl ... you need to get yourself together and stop thinking it's okay to act this way because your heart is broken,” one follower said. “Go back to Chris Brown ...” a different netizen added.
