Ryan Gosling Comments On Fatherhood After Secret Birth Of Second Daughter With Eva Mendes
Ryan Gosling is now the father of not one, but two little girls and he couldn’t be happier. The “Nice Guys” actor and actress girlfriend Eva Mendes welcomed their second daughter — named Amada Lee Gosling — on April 29 in Santa Monica, California.
People magazine caught up with the proud dad to discuss parenting and more. Gosling, 35, told the publication that he’s fully enjoying being a father of two. In fact, he claimed that life is more enjoyable than ever before.
“It sounds so clichéd, but I never knew that life could be this fun and this great,” he said.
Gosling and Mendes, 42, welcomed their second child in secret just two weeks after it was first reported they were expecting. One source told Us Weekly the mom-to-be was seen attempting to conceal her budding bump in February during a photo shoot, while another told E! News she was in her second trimester. The child’s name — which also happens to be big sister Esmeralda’s middle name — holds a special significance to the couple. In 2014 Mendes revealed to Violet Grey that her grandmother’s name was Amada, which, she added, “means ‘beloved’ in Spanish.”
The couple has successfully managed to keep both children out of the spotlight. In October, Mendes appeared on the “Today” show, where she revealed plans to retreat to care for her family. She also shared with viewers that since her daughter’s birth she’d been more careful about the roles she accepts. She explained that any time she’s on the fence about something she just imagines “her face” and the answer comes to her.
Fans got their first glimpse of Esmeralda Gosling in November, more than a year after her birth. According to the Daily Mail, paparazzi were able to snag a photo of the tiny tot while she was trick-or-treating with her mother and father in Pasadena, California. The trio hit the town dressed in matching skeleton costumes.
It remains unclear if and when the award-winning actor and Mendes plan to reveal their second child to the world.
