Ryan Philippe recently shared several photos from his exciting trip with his 17-year-old son, Deacon, in New Mexico. Fans were quick to notice a resemblance between the actor and his son whom he shares with his ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon.

The 46-year-old “Cruel Intentions” actor shared the vacation pictures on his Instagram account Friday. Ryan and Deacon posed in swimming attire as they enjoyed the waters at McCauley Warm Springs in the Santa Fe National Forest.

The actor’s gallery of images also had a short clip of Deacon immersing himself in the crystal-clear waters while wearing his sunglasses.

“The rocky uphill hike was well worth the warm woodland baptism that followed,” Ryan wrote in his post, to which Deacon commented: “And the viddles."

Fans had good words to say about the father-and-son tandem as they pointed out the resemblance between them and between Reese and Deacon.

“I thought Deacon was you,” one fan commented on the actor’s post. Another said: “@deaconphillippe you are definitely ur dad's twin."

“You and Reese literally created you guys twins! So crazy! Looks so pretty & peaceful out there!,” one fan wrote.

However, many fans argued that Deacon looks more like his mother.

“You look just like your mama,” one of them wrote. Another said: “I think he is his mommas twin.”

"Reese has the strongest genes ever," one fan commented.

Ryan and Reese divorced in 2008. Aside from Deacon, they also share a 21-year-old daughter, Ava Philippe.

Reese is now married to Jim Toth, a former talent agent, who also became the head of the Content Acquisition and Talent department at streaming service Quibi which shut down in October 2020.

According to E! News, Ryan is set to appear in an upcoming Peacock TV series, “MacGruber” which is being filmed in New Mexico. Prior to this trip, Ryan and Deacon went on a road trip to Joshua Tree National Park in California for the latter’s 17th birthday in October 2020.

"We did some rock climbing and this and that," the actor said in a guesting at “Live with Kelly and Ryan” as cited in the E! news report. "I had rented an alien-themed Airbnb and then revealed to him that the actual intent of our trip was to try to make contact with alien civilization."

"We didn't...We did lay out—in the middle of the night, we laid in the rocks and had a great father-and-son bonding moment. But no alien contact,” he was quoted as saying at the time.
