Ryan Phillippe can't hide how proud he is of his 18-year-old son, Deacon Phillippe, who is making his acting debut on the third season of Netflix's "Never Have I Ever" and releasing a mixtape soon, Entertainment Tonight reported.

"I am so proud. He's about to go to college for music. That's his primary focus," he told the outlet in an interview that came out Wednesday. "The acting thing he likes to do, and he will do according to what his appetite for it is, but his focus is primarily music."

"The music, he's actually dropping a mixtape this Friday on SoundCloud," the 47-year-old actor continued. "It's incredible. I'm so excited for people to hear. It's really good stuff. I'm super proud."

Deacon plays Parker in the teen comedy-drama, which is set to return to the streaming platform on Aug. 12. His character is reportedly the debate team rival of the lead character, Devi (played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). Parker is from a "well-funded private school" and is "able to coast through debate tournaments thanks to his school's advantages and is always down to party," according to CNN.

The teenage son of Ryan and ex-wife Reese Witherspoon released his debut track, "Long Run," in July 2020. Described by Billboard as "an electronic love anthem," the said track gained millions of plays and media attention, thanks to his parents who promoted the tune on their Instagram pages.

"It's always a good feeling when you're getting recognition for stuff that you do, especially on a creative level," Deacon told the outlet at the time. "I was glad people were seeing something I took part in. It was really significant."

Deacon then revealed that he was making music from a workstation in his mom's basement, but his long-term goals included recording an album, performing in festivals and going on musical tours.

He dropped his second single, "Love for the Summer" in October of the same year. The said track features Loren Gray.

Deacon, who was homeschooled, just finished high school and is set to go to college in the fall.

In June, Ryan shared Deacon's poolside graduation ceremony, where he "played principal" and gamely posed for a souvenir photo with Witherspoon and their son. Deacon marched and collected his diploma while the graduation song "Pomp and Circumstance" played in the background.

Aside from Deacon, Ryan also shares a daughter, Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, 22, with Witherspoon, 46.
