Ryan Reynolds got candid about his mental health and his lifelong struggles with anxiety.
The "Deadpool" star took to Instagram to talk about mental health. He admitted that he overthinks and overschedules himself due to anxiety.
"May is almost over. It's also Mental Health Awareness month. Which brings me to this," he wrote.
"One of the reasons I'm posting this so late is I overschedule myself and important things slip. And one of the reasons I overschedule myself is my lifelong pal, anxiety," he continued.
Although he has been battling anxiety all his life, Reynolds said he knew he was not alone. So, he decided to post about mental health awareness because people don't talk enough about it.
"I know I'm not alone and more importantly, to all those like me who overschedule, overthink, overwork, over-worry and over-everything, please know you're not alone. We don't talk enough about mental health and don't do enough to destigmatize talking about it. But, as with this post, better late than never, I hope," he concluded.
Reynolds received supportive messages from his celebrity pals and followers in the comments section. Many of them praised him for opening up about his anxiety because it could encourage others to do the same.
"Thank you for this. Your words matter so much in the destigmatization process," Dr. Becky Kennedy commented.
"Relate to this on every level," Rob Liefeld wrote.
"Thank you Ryan for having the courage to share. It will surely help others," Scott Dworkin commented.
"Better late than never my friend," Tyrone Rex Edwards added.
"Mate - your honesty is not only brave but, I’m positive will help countless others who struggle with anxiety too. Good on you!" "Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman wrote.
Jackman and Reynolds have been messing and trolling each other on social media. Earlier this month, Jackman conspired with an officer with the New York City Parks Department named John Dobkowski to convince Reynolds to give him a cameo in "Deadpool 3."
"Hey Ryan, you've got to get this guy in 'Deadpool 3,'" Dobkowski said in the video. "Even if it's for a 10-minute cameo, that would be awesome. That movie would be so cool, so great, it would blow the box office."
The officer jokingly threatened Reynolds that if he would not agree to his request, he would give him a ticket.
Jackman and Reynolds' friendly feud has been going on for years and the former could no longer remember how it exactly started. However, the "Les Miserables" star recalled meeting Reynolds on the set of "Wolverine" and said they started ribbing each other due to Scarlett Johansson.
"I met him back on ‘Wolverine,’ and I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett [Johansson], and Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, ‘Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I’m watching,’" Jackman shared.
