WGN America supernatural series “Salem” will air its Season 2 finale on June 28, and last Sunday’s episode, “On Earth As In Hell,” left fans with a number of questions unanswered. With the powerful Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery) feeling hopeless and drained of power, anything is possible leading up to episode 13, "The Witching Hour."

According to Spoiler TV, the synopsis for the “Salem’s” Season 2 finale reveals that Countess Marburg (Lucy Lawless) may still face trouble from Mary Sibley as the witch plans a last-ditch attempt to overpower the Countess. John Alden (Shane West) is visited by a pair of allies who deliver a serious message, while Mercy Lewis (Elise Eberle) learns of a grim reality, which means she must face an unexpected and possibly scary future.

Elsewhere, Anne (Tamzin Merchant) faces the possible consequences of her treacherous actions, which leads her down a more destructive path. Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel) learns a surprising truth, though time may already be running out.

Next week, the Starry Messenger comet draws closer, as Countess Marburg awaits the arrival of her lover, the Dark Lord. John continues to fight for his life, and Anne helps comfort and protect community members of Salem whose deaths would bring about serious consequenes.

The Season 2 finale of "Salem" will air on Sunday, June 28, on WGN at 10 p.m. EDT.
