Sam Asghari Asks Britney Spears' Fans To Respect Her Privacy; Calls Social Media 'Traumatizing'
A day after Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account, her husband, Sam Asghari spoke about the singer's absence on social media and requested fans for privacy, noting that the world of online networking can be "traumatizing."
The 28-year-old Iranian-American model white a series of posts Wednesday night on his Instagram Stories talking about how it's "good to take a break" from social media after Spears deactivated her Instagram account earlier this week.
"Social media can be traumatizing. Sometimes it's good to take a break," Asghari wrote. "She has her voice and is a free woman. I have respect for her privacy and I protect it at all times... Out of respect for her privacy, I don't post her 247. I ask for permission if I ever do."
Asghari, who walked the red carpet without Spears at the GQ Men Of The Year party held at the West Hollywood on Nov. 17 in California, explained that it's his job to attend events and he feels honored if Spears decides to join him.
However, he further explained why she isn't seen with him at big events anymore.
"For her, those things are not fun. They're [hectic] and full of stress," Asghari wrote. "Especially, since she's been doing these things since 8 years old. Plus she already slayed every single one she has been to."
"I've always respected and supported her privacy with everything I've had. I ask of you supportive and protective fans to do the same," he continued. "Sometimes being over protective can cause more stress and damage."

Asghari addressed Spears' absence after the 41-year-old singer deactivated her Instagram account Tuesday, as she had done multiple times before. Fans have been speculating that Spears may not be controlling her own social media account.
Spears reactivated her account again Thursday afternoon.
The singer and Asghari began their relationship in January 2017 after meeting for the first time in 2016 on the set of the music video for "Slumber Party." The couple got married earlier this year in June.
Spears shares two kids - Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15 - with ex-husband Kevin Federline. The former couple was married from 2004 to 2007.
