Samsung's new Odyssey gaming monitors were first shown during CES 2020. At the time, the tech giant revealed the monitors' specs and features, showed off their curves, and gave details as to why these will be the best monitors for all gamers, professional or not. One important thing that it chose to withhold at the time, however, was the selling price.

Now, the South Korean tech giant has unveiled that the Odyssey G9, a 49-inch behemoth, can be purchased for $1,700. Those who cannot afford this huge monitor can get the Odyssey G7, which comes in two sizes: a 32-inch model that sells for $800, and a 27-inch model that sells for $700.

Here's a quick look at each Odyssey monitor's specs and features.

Odyssey G9

The Odyssey G9 has a 49-inch 1000R curved display with HDR and 1,000 nits peak brightness. It has 5,120 x 1,440 resolution and 32:9 aspect ratio. It has a maximum 240Hz refresh rate.

Samsung said that the G9 uses a QLED display, which is capable of improved brights and more realistic shades and hues, resulting in more accurate details compared to other monitors. It is designed to deliver “spectacular colors with total depth and detail.” The display also has HDR1000 and DQHD resolution.

The 1000R curvature is designed to wrap the player for a more immersive gaming experience, and “fills your peripheral vision and draws you into the character's shoes.” Players will be able to see more detail at the same time.

Samsung also designed the Odyssey G9 to look as futuristic as can be, with a glossy white exterior and a blue-colored “Infinity Core Lighting Design” at the back. This makes the monitor stand out, even when look at it from behind. Users can change the color to their liking.

Odyssey G7

The smaller Odyssey G7 also boasts of 1000R curvature, max 240Hz refresh rate, and QLED. It offers HDR600 and WQHD resolution for clearer pictures, and has a peak 600 nits brightness. Both the 32-inch and 27-inch models have 2,560 x 1,440 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Like the bigger model, the G7 variants also has a blue “Core Lighting Design” at the back. Users will also be able to change the color to their liking. The monitor, however, has a matte black exterior.
