Samsung’s New Gaming Monitor Features Nvidia G-Sync
Samsung has unveiled its latest gaming monitor, a 27-inch curved monitor that features Nvidia’s G-Sync and an insanely fast 240Hz refresh rate gamers will love.
Samsung’s new CRG5 is the Korean tech company’s latest addition to its line of gaming monitors. This is also the newest of Samsung’s curved gaming monitors which inlude the enormous 49-inch CRG9 super-wide curved display monitor. The new CRG5 is designed to give gamers maximum visual performance without taking much space.
The CRG5 boasts of lightning-fast refresh rates by using Samsung’s 240Hz RapidCurve technology. This 27-inch monitor boasts of 3000:1 contrast ratio, capable of displaying deeper blacks, brighter whites and richer colors. It also features a 1500R curved VA panel display that allows for an immersive gaming experience.
The new monitor has a wide 178-degree viewing angle that allows users and onlookers to view what’s being played from various locations. It has FullHD 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, and a 4ms response time that players of fast-paced games, like those in the FPS genre, will surely appreciate.
“Combining a 240Hz refresh rate with NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility in Samsung’s new CRG5 curved gaming monitor gives gamers advanced performance for the most graphic-intense games,” Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said in a press release.
Combined with an Nvidia graphics card like those from the GTX 10 or RTX 20 series, the CRG5 can deliver smooth visuals without screen tearing and other annoying problems. Digital Trends noted that the monitor doesn’t actually have a G-Sync chip inside it, but it has been certified by Nvidia to provide support for G-Sync.
By using an on-screen menu, players will be able to create up to three separate display profiles they can use when playing games. Switching from one profile to another will also be easy. For those who don’t want to tinker with the display options, Samsung has also included pre-set display options designed for various genres.
The monitor looks elegant with its edge-to-edge screen on three sides (top, left and right). It has a sturdy, ergonomic stand that allows it to be perched on the desk safely.
The new Samsung CRG5 gaming monitor will become available starting July for $399.99. Interested parties can purchase it from Samsung’s online store and select U.S. retailers.
