Samsung Galaxy A8: Check Out Renderings, Pricing, Specifications
Information and images continue to leak about Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy A8 smartphone. The latest report includes incredible renderings of the planned handset. In addition, price details have been revealed.
In general, the Galaxy A series is known for a metallic look, cutting-edge specifications and, most importantly, a mid-range price tag. Following the pattern, the new renderings of the A8 leaked by @OnLeaks look very authentic. (The source is suspected to be from within Samsung.) These new renderings join an already heavy list of previously leaked photos and videos.
Meanwhile, the handset will be unveiled July 17 in China, notes GSM Arena.
As for pricing, a Vietnam online retailer has already listed the price as VND 10,990,000, which roughly translates to $503, or 453 euros. A leaked promotional teaser from Malaysia has revealed the price there to be MYR 1,888, which translates slightly lower, to $497, or 448 euros.
The device will reportedly feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, bundled with a 1080-pixel screen resolution. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip, in combination with an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor. Plus, the A8 will reportedly be backed by 2 GB of RAM unit.
It also will reportedly sport a killer 16 megapixel (MP) rear-facing unit along with an LED flash. In addition, there will also be a cool 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies. Furthermore, the handset will come with 32 GB of internal storage capacity. However, there is no information available on the expandable storage part. On the software end, the phone is expected to run on Google's Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system (OS).
To top it all off, the Galaxy S8 will feature a fingerprint scanner on the home button. Lastly, the device is believed to house a solid 3,050 mAh battery unit.
Readers should note that Samsung has not confirmed the metal-clad Galaxy A8 specifications or price thus far.
