The Samsung Galaxy A8 has been tied to the model number SM-A8000. In addition, GSM Arena says, the authenticity of the already leaked images has apparently been verified. Readers can check out the live images of the Galaxy A8 from the credible tipster Website NWE.
Samsung Galaxy A8 Specifications
Based on the TENAA listing, the Samsung Galaxy A8 specifications list will include a big 5.7-inch AMOLED display, aided by a Full HD screen resolution. The A8 device will be powered by an octa-core processor running at 1.5 GHz. GSM Arena says, this SoC combination points to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chip. There is also a good 2 GB of RAM on board.
For memory, the Galaxy A8 will come equipped with 16 GB of built-in storage. Plus, the handset features a microSD card slot for further expansion of up to 128 GB. But there seems to be a small mismatch in the camera specification listed in the TENAA site. TENAA shows an 8 MP rear-facing camera unit, but a 16 MP unit has is mentioned within a parentheses. GSM Arena says the predecessor Galaxy A7 sports a 13 MP main camera unit. Therefore, a downgrade of the sensor to 8 MP is not a possibility. Hence, the A8 will sport a killer 16 MP unit. There will also be an impressive 5 MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video chats.
The highlight of the Galaxy A8 is the super-thin and light body. The device apparently measures only 158 × 76.77 × 5.94 mm. This means, the A8 will reportedly be the thinnest smartphone Samsung has ever produced. Furthermore, the handset is only 142 g in weight. On the software end, this smartphone will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, out of the box with LTE capability on board. Even though TENAA has not listed the battery configuration, GSM Arena says the likely battery capacity is rumored to be 3,050 mAh unit. There’s no confirmation on the Samsung Galaxy A8 release date thus far.
