Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo Plus: This Wallet-Friendly Smartphone Spotted In India For $157
The mid-range Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo Plus is making its debut in India, the apparent successor to the Grand Neo unveiled in January 2014. The Grand Neo Plus is tied to the model No. GT-I9060 launched in January.
GSM Arena reported the new Galaxy Grand Neo smartphone apparently can be purchased from Samsung's official e-store specific to India. Needless to say, this device will give tough competition to all the budget-friendly smartphones. In any case, readers should note Samsung has yet to announce an official release date outside India.
Moving on to the key Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo Plus specifications, the handset reportedly comes with a pocket-friendly 5-inch TFT display and 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA) screen resolution. Under the hood, the device comes powered by an unspecified quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz. As with other mid-range handsets, this smartphone is also backed by a modest 1 GB of RAM. On the software front, the device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UX on top of it, instead of the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
When it comes to memory configuration, the Galaxy Grand Neo Plus comes equipped with 8 GB of built-in storage space and microSD card support for expansion up to 64 GB. Furthermore, the device sports a 5 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash and auto focus, along with a 2 MP front-facing shooter for selfies. Speaking of battery specification, the phone houses a solid 2,100 mAh battery unit.
Apart from the standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth, the Galaxy Grand Neo Plus also supports a 3G network. However, this particular variant reportedly does not come with 4G LTE. It is worth noting the device supports Smart Dual SIM. It's 9.5 mm thick and weighs 160 grams (5.6 ounces).
Samsung has listed the device in white, gold and midnight black on the official website. When it comes to price, the Galaxy Grand Neo Plus will set the buyers back INR 9,990 or $157 equivalent.
