Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date Nears: Device Listed In Samsung SideSync Documentation, 3450mAh Battery Rumored
With the expected Sept. 4 release date of the Samsung (KRX:005935) Galaxy Note 3 just weeks away, references to the new handset have been spotted in an online documentation of the company’s SideSync application, confirming that the device is indeed launching sooner than later.
The Galaxy Note 3 is mentioned quite a few times in the instructions for SideSync -- an app that allows users to share data between Samsung Android smartphones and Samsung Windows 8 PCs. Based on the online instructions, it appears that the SideSync app will come pre-installed on the Galaxy Note 3.
The South Korean tech giant recently sent out invitations for a media event -- “Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2” -- scheduled to take place on Sept. 4 in Berlin, ahead of the IFA conference scheduled to be held between Sept. 6 to Sept. 11 in the German city.
Although the company did not clearly mention that the Galaxy Note 3 would be the star of the show, the invite included a message, saying “Note the Date 04.09.2013 Berlin,” which strongly indicates that the company will unveil the next generation Note model at the event.
Take a look at the Samsung invitation here:
Although Samsung has not discussed the features and specifications of the Galaxy Note 3 so far, a report from PhoneArena said, on Sunday, that the new handset will feature a 3450mAh battery, which will significantly improve the device's battery life when compared to older models.
The original Samsung Galaxy Note features a 2500mAh battery, while the existing Galaxy Note 2 includes a 3100mAh battery, which according to PhoneArena, is 11 percent less powerful than the rumored Galaxy Note 3 battery.
In addition, if the 3450mAh battery rumor turns out to be true, the battery will be the most powerful of its kind Samsung has ever incorporated into a smartphone. Until now, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 has the largest capacity battery, a 3200mAh cell.
According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will feature a 5.7-inch AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM, and the Exynos 5 Octa processor or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, depending on the market. The handset is also expected to sport a 13-megapixel camera, LTE-A connectivity and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.
