Samsung Galaxy Note 5: Leaked 3D CAD Video Hints Specs, Features, Ahead Of September Release
Leaks and rumors pertaining to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 are compounding day-by-day as the anticipated September release date nears. A video showcasing the 3D model of the upcoming phablet has surfaced, highlighting key details.
Tipster @onleaks via NWE revealed the design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phablet resembles the flagship Galaxy S6 and the edge-display-clad Galaxy S6 Edge. Contrary to the earlier rumors, the screen will apparently be flat, however, the rear of the device will be curved towards the side edges.
The similarity between the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 doesn’t stop there. As it turns out, the battery unit of the upcoming device will be nonremovable, similar to the flagship Galaxy S6. Also, the capacity of the housed battery reportedly stands at a killer 4,100 mAh. There's no indication whether card slot on the left side of the device belongs to a SIM card or a microSD card for expansion. However, it is worth noting the Galaxy S6 does not come with the expandable memory option.
In the meantime, the purported renders of the Galaxy Note 5 look in-line with the previously leaked cases, with respect to layout. In addition, the handset apparently will not feature a type-C USB port, instead, the same microUSB 2.0 of previous devices will be part of the device. Also notable was the cut-out for the S-Pen stylus, which hints the possibility of an auto-ejectable pen, notes GSM Arena.
On the other hand, the video apparently shows the dimensions of the Galaxy Note 5 as 153.4-by-77.3-by-10.2 mm (6.03-by-3.04-0.4 inches). But then, it is worth mentioning that, the 10.2 mm size reportedly includes the camera bump. GSM Arena, however, reported the phablet's thickness at 9 mm (o.35 inch) and the width at 149.6 mm (5.89-inch). As always, readers should note Samsung has yet to confirm the Galaxy Note 5 specifications.
