Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Will Be Revolutionary And Sweet But iPhone 6s Will Have More Bling
Samsung and Apple's rivalry continues as both companies are slated to release their next flagship phones: the Galaxy Note 5 and the iPhone 6s. Despite a lack of confirmation and details from the two tech giants, several features of the devices have surfaced, suggesting that a new competition will be brewing. Samsung promises to have a more revolutionary device whereas Apple is upgrading its lineup adding more functionality and options.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge's hype has settled as the market's attention shifts to the expected Galaxy Note 5. With the Galaxy Note 4 drawing positive reviews, expectations are high for the upcoming phablet follow-up. Sources suggest that the upcoming device may feature a 2K or 4K flat-screen super AMOLED display, Samsung's own modem, including Exynos 7422 processor that will combine the GPU, CPU, RAM, modem and storage in one chip. People already saw Samsung's hands dabbing in integrated processor solutions with the Galaxy Alpha offering a chipset combining the storage and RAM. This time Samsung appears more ambitious as it tries to offer its first ever all-in-one solution (ePoP).
Further, Samsung is not stopping with its processor experiments as another chipset is being tested on the device, the Exynos 7430. However, sources said Samsung is not ready yet to release the processor to consumers. There have been claims that the release date for the Galaxy Note 5 will be around August ahead of the expected launch at the IFA show in Berlin (Sept. 4-9), but the company has not provided any official details yet.
Apple, on other hand, will not let Samsung take away all the spotlight as details of its next smartphone upgrade, iPhone 6s, is expected to offer more bling: Recent analyst estimates suggest major upgrades for the device lineup. KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo's latest note brings to light more features of the iPhone 6s, including a rose gold option matching the rose gold option of the Apple Watch. Other expected features implying a more promising phone include: Force Touch, screen sizes at 4.7 and 5.5 inches, 12MP camera, new microphone for enhanced voice quality, A9 processor packed with upgraded 2GB LPDDR4 and new casing material to avoid issues like "bendgate."
