While some parts of the world are saddened by the delayed release dates for the Galaxy Note 7 in their area, Samsung is giving all of its fans more reasons to be happy about purchasing their own handset upon the release of the device or sometime this year. The South Korean tech giant has just confirmed that Android 7.0 Nougat is coming to the phablet in a few months’ time.

Earlier today, Samsung Mobile President Koh Dong-jin announced that the Galaxy Note 7, which will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on its release, is bound to get the Android Nougat treatment within this year, with GSM Arena reporting that the software update could arrive this October or November.

Speaking of how Samsung plans to make this Android Nougat update possible for the Galaxy Note 7 this year, Dong-jin said, "It is very important for us to offer up-to-date information with the new OS, but what's more crucial is to build a stable and seamless platform for users. That's why we are planning to do enough beta testing before any OS updates."

Though Dong-jin did not reveal the specific date/s when Samsung will be doing beta testing for the Note 7, it seems that they are eager to start doing so as soon as possible, given that Dong-jin has now announced the projected release of the Android 7.0 Nougat update on the top-of-the-line handset.

If Samsung could indeed release the software update in October, then the Galaxy Note 7 would be running on Android Nougat just a month after LG announces its V20, which is confirmed to be the first phone to run on the newest Android OS. LG is reportedly planning to debut the V10 successor on Sept. 6 during IFA in San Francisco, but the company has yet to reveal the release date for the device, according to Pocket-lint.

Dong-jin’s announcement concerning the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy Note 7 comes amid reports about the much-talked-about handset being intentionally delayed in some parts of the world due to its high demand in the market.

Just a couple of hours ago, Samsung Mobile Netherlands announced that the release of the Galaxy Note 7 in the country has been delayed to Sept. 9 from its intended Sept. 2 arrival, Android Authority has learned. Aside from the Netherlands, other countries that will also experience delays are Russia, Ukraine and Malaysia as the South Korean brand intends to fulfil the pre-orders of its major markets, like the U.S., Canada and its home country first.
