Samsung Galaxy S10+ vs. Galaxy S10 vs. Galaxy S10e: Here Are The Differences
Samsung celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Galaxy line of smartphones by unleashing the Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e phones during a recent launch event in San Francisco. At the unveiling event, the South Korean company also released its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, and the Galaxy S10 5G, the world’s first 5G-ready smartphone. The Galaxy S10 trio that includes S10+, S10 and S10e is packed with similar specs. Here is a comparison between the three phones to know their differences.
Design and Display
The Galaxy S10+, S10 and S10 are all equipped with glass panels on their front and rear with an aluminum frame in between. The S10+ and S10, respectively, feature 6.4-inch and 6.1-inch curved AMOLED display with quad HD+ resolution. The S10e, being an entry-level member in the series, comes with a 5.8-inch flat AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution.
The S10 and S10e have a small round-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera on the top-right corner of their screens. The S10+ has a pill-shaped hole on the area for dual front-facing shooters. The S10 and S10+ have Gorilla Glass 6 protection, while S10 features the older Gorilla Glass 5. The S10e has a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The S10 and S10+ are blessed with ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader.
Chipset, Variants and OS
The Exynos 9820 variant of the Galaxy S10 trio will be released in EMEA markets, whereas the Snapdragon 855 edition of these phones will be heading to the U.S. LATAM and China.
The S10+ and S10 come with 8GB RAM + 128GB/512GB storage, depending on the version. Samsung has a special ceramic body version of the S10+ that features 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The S10e can be availed in options like 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. The One UI based Android 9 Pie comes loaded on the S10 trio.
Cameras and Other Features
The Galaxy S10+ and S10 feature the same triple camera setup on their rear that includes OIS and dual pixel autofocus enabled 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS and 2x optical zoom and a 16-megapixel super wide-angle lens with 123-degree field of view. The Galaxy S10e has a dual camera setup that omits the telephoto lens but includes the other two sensors available on the S10+ and S10.
The dual selfie camera setup of the Galaxy S10 has dual pixel PDAF enabled 10-megapixel lens and 8-megapixel depth sensor. The S10 and S10e feature a single front camera with 10 megapixels.
The Galaxy S10+, S10 and S10e respectively come with 4,100mAh, 3,400mAh and 3,100mAh batteries. These phones carry support for 15W rapid charging, 15W fast wireless charging and 9W reverse charging.
Color Variants and Price
The Galaxy S10 models are available in the colors Prism Black, Prism White, Prism Blue, Prism Green, Canary Yellow and Flamingo Pink. The 12GB RAM + 1TB storage version of S10+ comes in two colors, Ceramic Black and Ceramic White. The Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e have the respective starting prices of $749, $899 and $999. These phones are available to pre-order through all leading carriers in the U.S. The shipments of the pre-ordered units will begin from March 8.
