KEY POINTS

  • The iPhone 14 Pro has 1887 single-core points and 5,484 multi-core points.
  • iPhone 13 Pro has a 1,707 single-core score and 4659 multi-core score
  • The test device scored 1,521 points on the single-core test and 4,689 on the multi-core test

The performance and other details about the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, presumably the upcoming premium flagship smartphone from the South Korean-based tech giant, have leaked online via the cross-platform utility for benchmarking the CPU of computers Geekbench. Based on the device's single-core and multi-core scores, it is falling behind that Apple's iPhone 14 Pro.

Following the leaked Geekbench scores of the Samsung Galaxy S23 a few days ago, another leak emerged online, this time, reportedly that of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The listing on the cross-platform benchmarking site showed that the S23 Ultra houses a chipset with the codename "Kalama" and a 1+2+2+3 CPU configuration.

Earlier rumors claimed that the premium device would run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which, based on the Geekbench listing, has a prime core clocked at 3.36 GHz. The test device scored 1,521 points on the single-core test and 4,689 on the multi-core test.

This is an impressive leap for the Samsung device, considering that the Galaxy S22 Ultra managed 1,240 points for the single-core test and 3,200 points for the multi-core test. Moreover, the Geekbench listing revealed that the Samsung device has 8GB of RAM, although it is safe to presume that its retail version will most likely bring 12 GB of RAM.

Aside from those, the said device is running on the Android 13 operating system, most likely on top of OneUI. While this may look like a huge improvement on the Ultra line of Samsung, the scores are not that impressive since its competition is not only tougher but also shows significantly high scores.

The iPhone 14 Pro's Geekbench listing last month showed a 1,879 points single-core score and a 4,664 multi-core score. The older generation iPhone 13 Pro has a 1,707 single-core score and 4659 multi-core score. But the iPhones run on a faster A16 chip, which, based on the latest Geekbench test, has 1887 single-core points and 5,484 multi-core points.

The scores of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra are nowhere near the score of the iPhone 14 Pro. It is worth noting, however, that smartphones are more than just raw speeds, and benchmarks are more of bragging rights than any remarkable performance.
