Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC Zeta: Stiff Quad-Core Battle Ahead
Samsung Galaxy S3, which is believed to be the next big thing in the smartphone market, is expected to be launched in March.
The Samsung device has already created humongous interest among the smartphone lovers and is believed to carry the legacy set by S2 and become the best device in the history of Android phones.
However, the journey for Galaxy S3 will not be as smooth as Samsung hopes because HTC is all set to release the Zeta smartphone anytime soon. Zeta, as rumored, will sport a stunning design, great features and will run on the latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Although both the devices are rumored and all their features are speculated, let's find out how they stack up against each other.
Size: HTC Zeta will have dimension of 109.8 x 60.9 x 9.8 mm and will weigh 146 grams while various rumors suggest that Samsung Galaxy S3 will be 113.5 x 55 x 12.9 mm with a lesser weight of 109 grams.
Display: HTC Zeta is said be around 4.5 inches and feature a capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors, 1280 x 720 pixels and 326 ppi pixel density. Galaxy S3, on the other hand, will have 4.6 inches. It will have a Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixels and 319 ppi pixel density.
Input Features: The input features which could accompany Galaxy S3 include touch-sensitive controls, Corning Gorilla Glass, TouchWiz User Interface version 4.0 or an upgraded 5.0, an accelerometer, gyro and proximity sensor. On the other hand, HTC Zeta is expected to sport a touch-sensitive controls feature along with HTC Sense User Interface, Accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass.
Operating System: Rumors suggest that Zeta will arrive with Google's latest Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. On the other hand, Galaxy S3 is expected to run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but will be upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Processor: While Galaxy S3 is expected arrive with a quad-core Exynos 4212/ Exyos 5250, 1.8GHz / 2GHz processor with 2GB RAM, HTC Zeta is rumored to boast a quad-core 2.5 GHz processor with 1 GB RAM.
Internal Memory and SD: Galaxy S3 is said to have both the 16GB and 32GB versions and the phone memory can later be extended up to another 32GB via microSD cards. Zeta, however, will provide 32 GB of internal storage but the phone will not have a microSD slot.
Camera: HTC Zeta is expected to sport an 8 mega pixel primary rear-facing camera with 3264x2448 pixels and video capabilities at 1080p at 30fps. The HTC phone will also have a 1.3 MP secondary front-facing camera for video calling.
Galaxy S3 is expected to come with an extremely powerful front-facing camera of 12 megapixels with 4000x3000 pixels. A front-facing, secondary 2 MP camera is also expected to come with the S3.
Camera Features: HTC Zeta is expected to pack autofocus, dual-LED flash features like geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection while Galaxy S3 camera will have features like autofocus, LED flash rear-facing camera with geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization.
WLAN and Bluetooth: Zeta is expected to have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and EDR and microUSB version 2.0. Galaxy S3, on the other hand, is expected to feature Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth version 3.0+HS.
NFC and 4G LTE: According to various sources, Galaxy S3 will feature the NFC technology and will have 4G LTE support but the Zeta might not support LTE and the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
Battery: According to rumors and leaked sources, Galaxy S3 is expected to feature a 2250mAh battery. On the other hand, HTC Zeta will come with a Standard Li-Ion 1830 mAh battery.
