Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date: Metro PCS Begins Selling Smartphone In Select Markets, C Spire Under Two-Year Contract
Samsung isn’t done releasing its “next big thing” just yet. The Samsung Galaxy S4, which has already sold over 20 million handsets worldwide, is now available on the contract-free Metro PCS as well as on C Spire Wireless with a two-year contract.
The Samsung Galaxy S4’s release on Metro PCS has been anticipated for some time as the device showed up in FCC filings back in March. Metro PCS also recently teased the Galaxy S4 launch in a vine, which ultimately read Samsung Galaxy S3 + 1 = ? Now available on the network in select markets including Atlanta, Hartford, Philadelphia, Boston, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Dallas-Ft. Worth and New York, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will sell on Metro PCS for $549 plus tax. Availability is expected to expand to additional markets and online “soon,” according to the network. Metro PCS offers several 4G plans, which start a $40/month and include unlimited talk, text and data.

C Spire is offering the Samsung Galaxy S4 for the standard $199.99 with a two-year contract. The network offers several plan options to fit users’ various talk, text and data needs, among other features.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 notably features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Super AMOLED display, a 1.9 GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with external expansion up to 64GB, a 13-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel front camera, which includes several innovative camera enhancement features and is able to shoot 1080P video, HSPA+/LTE connectivity and the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Special features on the Galaxy S4 include Smart Pause, Air View, Air Gestures and Group Play.
