Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date: Verizon May Offer Copper Gold Model; Where Else Can You Purchase The Gold Galaxy S5?
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has been available in the U.S. for nearly one month, but thus far most major mobile carriers and retailers are offering only the Shimmer White and Charcoal Black color options. But reports now indicate that Verizon may soon have the Copper Gold Galaxy S5 variant available.
Tech informant Evleaks shared these details on Twitter on Wednesday. While the story is not confirmed by Verizon, the carrier is known for exclusively offering certain color options of popular mobile devices. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is available in Blue Artic and Autumn Brown in addition to White Frost and Black Mist, for example.
If accurate, Verizon may be the first major U.S. carrier to offer the Copper Gold Galaxy S5, but it would not be the first retailer. GSM Nation is currently selling the 3G Galaxy S5 Shimmer White, Charcoal Black and Copper Gold color options. GSM Nation sells the U.S. LTE Galaxy S5, which is currently only available in Shimmer White.
Some other retailers have also hinted that they might offer the Copper Gold Galaxy S5, including Target and Overstock.com. Target currently has a placeholder for its GSM unlocked Galaxy S5 on its website. Though it says the device is not yet available online or in stores, it has indicated possible availability for all four Galaxy S5 color options, which also includes Electric Blue. Overstock.com told IBTimes in April that it planned to have all four color options available. Thus far the retailer is selling the Shimmer White and Charcoal Black and Electric Blue color options.
The Copper Gold Galaxy S5 is also available in limited supply in other markets around the world. A few carriers and retailers in the U.K. have varied availability of the Copper Gold Galaxy S5, while reports indicate that the color variant is now available in India.
